Former Matador Erik Jarvey Enjoys Successful Start to Professional Career

Former Cal State Northridge golfer Erik Jarvey has had a stellar beginning to his professional career, highlighted by advancing to the First Qualifying Stage of PGA Q-School on Friday, Sept. 25.

Jarvey, playing in the Q-School Pre-Qualifying Tournament at the Golf Club of Dallas in Dallas, Texas, finished tied for 37th at (+7) 287 over four rounds which concluded on Sept. 25. The four-day tournament, which began Sept. 22, saw Jarvey post rounds of (+2) 72, (+3) 73, (E) 70, (+2) 72 to earn one of 43 qualifying positions advancing to the First Qualifying Stage to be held Oct. 21-24 or Oct. 27-30.

In early September, Jarvey tied for first with a 67 at the California State Open Qualifier. The final event will be held Nov. 4-6 at the Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto, Calif. The final field will consist of 144 professionals and amateurs competing for a portion of the anticipated $100,000 purse

Jarvey then moved on to the Oklahoma Open Championship on Sept 18-20 at Oak Tree C.C. in Edmond, Ok. where he finished tied for 10th with a two-round score of (+1) 141. Jarvey posted rounds of (-1) 69 and (+2) 72 over his two rounds.
