What were your thoughts on season-opening tournament in Denver?
The season-opening tournament was successful. Denver is a nice place and we enjoyed the time we spent there.
What expectations do you have for yourself and the team for 2008-09?
I have high expectations of the team and myself. We had a successful season last year with our first team win in eight years. This year I would like our team to win a couple more tournaments and improve our stroke average. I feel that our team is strong enough to win the Big West Conference even though Irvine is really competitive.
What is your favorite tournament to play in? Favorite course?
I like the Pacific tournament the most. One of the CSUN alumni invites our team to stay at the Duck Club in Stockton and we have a lot of fun there. My favorite course is the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
What Matador golfer keeps the team loose on the course?
Greg Gauvin keeps our team loose on the course. He is also the biggest character on our team. You can always count on a good one-liner or two from him everyday.
You had a pretty amazing freshman season in 2007-08, setting the Cal State Northridge record for season stroke average and being named Big West Freshman of the Year?
I was proud to win the Freshman of the Year award last year for the Big West Conference.
What was it like to win the prestigious California Amateur Championship during the summer?
Winning the California Amateur was thrilling for me. It really boosted my confidence and I hope to be in contention again next year.
According to several reports you split a couple of Titleists in half with your drives during the California Amateur, was that really true?
It is true. I guess Titleist doesn't make balls like they used to.
What have you learned from Coach Bracken in the year or so you've played for him?
Coach Bracken is always positive. He encourages each of the players to play their best and he believes that our team can win.
I'm sure you've envisioned yourself playing on the PGA Tour, where do you see yourself five years from now?
Five years from now, I hope to be playing on the Ryder Cup Team for the USA.
What do you like to do away from the golf course?
In my spare time I like to work out, watch Boxing and hang out.
