Matadors Sit 11th After One Round at Cabo Collegiate

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico - Cal State Northridge carded an opening round 312 and sits 11th after the opening round of the Cabo Collegiate at Querencia Los Cabos G.C. Sophomore Chris Russo paces the Matadors with a 71 and is tied for third after one round.

Russo, with the one under-par 71, trails Bryan Harris (68) of UC Irvine by three shots heading into the second round on Sunday.

Also for the Matadors on Saturday, senior Nick Delio is tied for 17th after an opening round (+3) 75, freshman Jake Katz is tied for 49th at (+9) 81, Arthurd Chung is tied for 61st at (+13) 85 and Matt Siporin is 66th at (+15) 88.

The University of Houston leads after one round by five strokes over UC Irvine after the first day of competition.

The tournament, hosted by Santa Clara University will continue through the weekend with 18-holes scheduled for Sunday and Monday.
