Matadors Drop to 17th at ASU Thunderbird Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - Cal State Northridge men's golf posted a final round 292, their second best round of the tournament, but dropped to 17th place after the final round of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at Karsten G.C.
Senior Erik Jarvey, who was tied for 42nd place after two rounds on Friday, carded a one under-par 70 on Saturday to improve to 25th. Jarvey finished with rounds of 71-75-70 to finish at three over-par 216.
Sophomore Nick Delio, who was tied for 27th after Friday's play, posted a final round three over-par 74 to finish tied for 39th at five over 218. Jason Rosenkranz carded the Matadors' second-best round of the day on Saturday with a one over 72 to tied for 62nd at eight over 221. Clint Oleson finished the day Saturday at five over 76 to finish the tournament tied for 79th at (+12) 225 and Jeff Freund posted his second consecutive round of 77 to finish 96th at (+23) 236.
The ASU Thunderbird Invitational was Northridge's final tuneup prior to the Big West Championships which will be held Apr. 20-21 at San Luis Obispo CC.
