Second Round of Bill Cullum Invitational Suspended Due to Darkness

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Darkness curtailed the second round of the Bill Cullum Invitational Monday as only a handful of teams were not able to complete 36 holes. The groups that did not complete the second round will tee it up at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning with the final 18-holes coming immediately after.

The annual CSUN tournament, held at Wood Ranch Golf Club, features 20 teams and 108 total players many of which completed 36 holes just before darkness set in on Ventura County.

Washington State and San Diego each led the team competition after one round posting team totals of 288, two shots better than UC Santa Barbara and three strokes ahead of Cal State Fullerton. The host Matadors were ninth after an opening round 300.

Individually, UC Irvine's Travis Russell and Boise State's Clayton Kosanovich held the round one lead with each firing a three under-par 69.

Shane Blanchard was the Matadors' low man as he carded an opening round 73 while CSUN's Steven Molumby posted a one under 71 competing as an individual.
