Northridge, Calif. - Get ready hoops fans. Matador Madness is invading The Matadome.
Enthusiasm for college basketball has reached a fever pitch on the Cal State Northridge campus, and what better way to usher in the 2009-10 season than by being part of "Matador Madness" on October 16, on the home court of Cal State Northridge, The Matadome.
Northridge fans will have a chance to meet and greet both the men's and women's teams in an event that will include autographs with the players and coaches, a chance to take pictures with your favorite Matador players, display your artistic talents by face painting and sign making, partaking of plenty of food and drink (including $1 hot dogs), an opportunity to purchase Matador hoops gear, and much, much more.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to win many prizes.
The pre-game festivities will start at 6:30 p.m. with the formal program getting underway at 8 p.m. Matador men's head coach Bobby Braswell, and women's head coach Staci Schulz will share their insights on their teams' prospects for a championship season in 2009-10.
Both teams will conduct scrimmages to give Matador fans a sneak peak into what promises to be a highly exciting season for men's and women's basketball at Cal State Northridge this year.
Matador Madness will be in collaboration with the CSUN Athletic Department, Associated Students Space, The Union Program Council of the University Student Union, Residential Life and the Department of Alumni Relations.
