Danny Sprinkle returned to the Cal State Northridge staff prior to the 2008-09 season and continues this year (2012-13) as an assistant coach.

For six seasons (2000-01 through 2005-06), Sprinkle successfully served on the Cal State Northridge coaching staff as an assistant coach. His duties included coaching the Matador guards, assisting head coach Bobby Braswell with the team's offense in addition to coordinating the recruiting.

In Sprinkle's first season (2000-01) at Cal State Northridge, the Matadors captured the Big Sky regular and tournament titles, and advanced to the school's first appearance ever in the NCAA Tournament. That season, the Matadors scored a school record 2,650 points (22-10 record).

After his initial tenure at Cal State Northridge, Sprinkle moved on to become an assistant coach at Montana State (2006-07, 2007-08) where he gained undergraduate stardom as a player for the Bobcats (1995-99). Sprinkle returned to the Cal State Northridge coaching staff for his second tour of duty as an assistant basketball coach in 2008-09.

As an undergraduate at Montana State, Sprinkle not only started all four seasons, but also helped lead the Bobcats to the Big Sky Tournament four times and twice led his team to the Big Sky Championship game in 1996 (scored 30 points) and 1998. Sprinkle was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player as a freshman (1995-96) after helping Montana State claim the regular season and tournament title. A three-time all-conference player, Sprinkle earned first team All-Big Sky honors as a sophomore after finishing the 1996-97 season sixth in the conference in scoring and third in three-pointers made per game and in three-point field goal percentage.

Sprinkle is the Montana State school record holder with 263 three-pointers. His career three-pointers made still ranks fourth all-time in Big Sky Conference history. In a 1999 game at Sacramento State, Sprinkle made a school record nine 3-pointers.

During his playing days at Montana State, Sprinkle shot .418 (263-for-628) from three-point range (#6 all-time in MSU history), and .473 (529-for-1,118) overall from the floor. Sprinkle averaged 13.4 points per game (1,497 points, #6 all-time in school history), and collected 233 assists and 74 steals during his four seasons.

In 2006, Sprinkle was named to the Montana State Athletic Hall of Fame, the first year of eligibility.

Sprinkle, who was born in Pullman, Washington, enjoyed an outstanding career at Helena High School in Montana. His basketball career included being named all-state twice. Sprinkle also competed in football and track at Helena High School where he graduated in 1995.

Sprinkle graduated from Montana State in 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in Health Enhancement.
