A highly respected basketball coach at the collegiate level, Bob Lowe joined the Cal State Northridge Men's Basketball program in 2009 as an assistant coach.

His role with the Matadors will involve working with the team's post players and other administrative responsibilities.

Lowe came to CSUN with a tremendous amount of experience, having served as an assistant coach for 25 years prior to arriving at Northridge.

Prior to his hire at Northridge, Lowe spent eight seasons with the Cal Poly Mustangs from 2002-09. During his tenure with the Mustangs, Lowe's coaching responsibilities included roles as defensive coordinator, the conditioning and off-season workout schedule coordinator, and handling all team travel arrangements.

Previous to his coaching tenure at Cal Poly, Lowe's career included stints at Portland (2000-01), Southern Utah (1992-00) and at New Mexico State (1989-92). During his tenure at New Mexico State, the Aggies appeared in three straight NCAA Tournaments, and advanced to the NCAA "Sweet 16" in 1992.

During his last three years at New Mexico State, the team chalked up a 74-18 record. That included a victory over a UNLV (1/8/90) team that had won the NCAA championship the year before. Lowe aided in the development of former New Mexico State stars Randy Brown and Reggie Jordan, who both played in the NBA.

During the 2006-07 season, Cal Poly chalked up a school record 19 wins, and advanced to the Big West Conference Tournament championship game twice (2003, 2007).

At Southern Utah, the Thunderbirds were ranked #1 among Divsion I independent teams (1994). Southern Utah captured two American West Conference Tournaments (1995, 1996). Southern Utah led the nation in three-point field goal percentage.

A 1985 graduate of George Fox University, Lowe worked as an undergraduate assistant (1983-85) at the school before joining the coaching staff at College of the Desert as an assistant coach from 1985-89.

Lowe earned his master's degree in Education Administration from Cal State San Bernardino in 1994.

Lowe and his wife Kelli have one son, Casey.
