Northridge, Calif. – Collegiate basketball fans will get a chance to see Cal State Northridge "Holiday Hoops" when the unbeaten Matadors travel to Brigham Young in a televised non-league basketball game on Saturday, Nov. 24.
Game time is slated for 7:00 pm (mt), 6:00 pm (pt).
The CSUN/BYU game will be available as a free live TV stream at http://byutv.org/watch/livetv. Viewers will need to register for a free account to access the game.
The game will also be televised on Channel 290 on Verizon FiOS; Channel 9403 on DISH; Channel 374 on DirecTV; Channel 567 (Standard Definition) and Channel 1567 (High Definition) on ATT U-verse; and Channel 268 on Time Warner Cable San Diego.
Cal State Northridge is 6-0, its best start in 31 seasons (1981-82).
The game will be played at BYU's Marriott Center. This will be the largest on-campus road arena Cal State Northridge has ever played. The Marriott Center seats 22,700, the third-largest on-campus arena in the United States. Only Syracuse's Carrier Dome (33,000) and Kentucky's Rupp Arena (23,000) have bigger on-campus arenas.
If you can't watch the game, the contest will be broadcast live on gomatadors.com with Alan Zinsmeister handling the announcing duties. Live Stats and Twitter coverage will also be available during the game.
Saturday's live television coverage of CSUN vs BYU will be the first of five Matador games that will be televised during the regular season in 2012-13. The Pac-12 Networks will televise CSUN's games at UCLA (Nov. 28, 9:00 pm), at Arizona State (Dec. 8, 11:00 am, pt) and at Utah (Dec. 21, 7:30 pm, pt). The Big West Conference game at UC Irvine (Jan. 12, 4:00 pm) will be televised on Prime Ticket.
During the previous five seasons, Cal State Northridge basketball has been featured prominently on television (32 times to be exact), including games on CBS, Fox Sports Net and ESPNU.
During CSUN's march to the NCAA Tournament in 2008-09, Matador basketball games were televised a school record nine times.
