Tom Meusborn, who spent the past 24 years transforming Chatsworth High School baseball into a national powerhouse, joins the Matadors for his first season with the program in 2013-14. Meusborn completes head coach Greg Moore's coaching staff as Moore embarks on his first campaign with the Matadors.
While at Chatsworth, Meusborn led the Chancellors to eight CIF City Section Division I titles and 19 West Valley League crowns. Under his guidance, both Matt Dominguez and Mike Moustakas were selected in the MLB Draft's first round after leaving Chatsworth.
In 24 seasons, Meusborn compiled an astounding 619-127-4 record, the best all-time in the state of California for a coach with at least 100 victories. His teams were also 67-16 in the playoffs. From 2003 to 2009, Chatsworth appeared in seven consecutive City championship games and his eight titles are most by a head coach.
In 2003, the Chancellors went 33-1 before putting together a perfect 35-0 record in 2004. After both seasons numerous publications declared Chatsworth national champions. In 2011, Baseball America declared Meusborn's program the best high school team in the nation over the first decade of the 21st century.
