Matt Hiserman completed his second season with the Matadors in 2014-15 and his first as an assistant coach after one year as the Director of Community Relations.

He spent last year developing the Diamond University program. The Diamond University program is a series of classes which combines lessons from behavioral sciences and academics to provide successful habits for the broader life. 

Prior to Diamond University Hiserman spent the 2011-2012 baseball season as the University of San Francisco Dons Director of Baseball Operations. In this role Hiserman was integral in all of the programs daily operations; including travel, budget, fundraising, and community service. 

Hiserman has spent two summers as a coach in collegiate summer leagues. In 2012 he spent the summer as the Pitching Coach for the Green Bay Bullfrogs in the Northwoods League. During that season the Bullfrogs pitching staff led the Northwoods League in earned run average, strikeout to walk ratio, and several other key categories. The Bullfrogs finished the season with the third most strikeouts in the history of the Northwoods League. In the summer of 2011 he performed the duties of Associate Head Coach for the Fontenatti Athletics in the Far West Collegiate Baseball League.

As a player Hiserman began his college baseball career at Santa Clara University in 2007 in one of the nation’s top recruiting classes. During his sophomore year he sat out after transferring to the University of San Francisco. In the spring of 2009 Hiserman emerged as one of the top pitchers on the West Coast when he ranked among West Coast Conference leaders in wins, innings pitched, earned run average, strikeouts, complete games, and lowest opponent batting average.
 He followed that up by competing in the prestigious Cape Cod summer league, earning an Orleans Firebirds team award for outstanding performance on and off the field. Hiserman capped off his career at USF in 2011 as the Dons competed in the UCLA regional, the second in school history.

Hiserman received his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of San Francisco in 2010 and completed his masters in sports management from USF in 2012.
