Women's Student-Athlete of the Week - Nicole Cruz, Women's Soccer

Nicole Cruz scored her second goal of the season in the 50th minute
as the Matadors posted a 1-0 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Oct.
9. Cruz collected a cross from Amanda Smith and slotted the ball to
the far post as Northridge snapped a five-match losing streak and
won for just the second time since 2001 against the Gauchos.
Cruz has made a triumphant return to the pitch this season after
sitting out last year. She scored her first career goal in her
first match back, tallying the Matadors' second goal in their 3-0
win at LMU, the program's first victory ever at the home of the
Lions.
For the season, Cruz is second on the team with two goals and is
tied for third with four points. She has appeared in five matches
and has seven shots for the season.
