Women's Student-Athlete of the Week - Blocker Casey Hinger, Volleyball

Casey Hinger earned tournament MVP honors at the UNLV Invitational after she helped lead the Matadors to the tournament title, its second preseason tournament championship of the year. In a five-set victory over UNLV, Hinger led CSUN with a team-high 15 kills on a .394 hitting percentage. She also had 10 kills in a victory over Eastern Washington and 10 kills against Southern Utah. In her first season with Northridge, Hinger is second on the team with 84 kills while hitting .245 in 208 total attacks.

Originally from Fullerton, Calif., Hinger adds to that 28 digs, 20 blocks and four service aces through 11 matches. She and the Matadors host BYU on Saturday, Sept. 17 for a 1 p.m. match in The Matadome.
