Cal State Northridge forward Beto Velasquez had a pair of assists this weekend as the Matadors defeated both San Diego and Saint Mary's at home.
On Friday against the Toreros, Velasquez assisted on Sagi Lev-Ari's goal just six minutes into the match. He played the ball over the top of the defense to Lev-Ari, who found space in the box to fire a shot for the goal.
On Sunday afternoon against the Gaels, Velasquez sent in a cross from the left side of the field to Brian Behrad at the right post. Behrad's header went into the net with six seconds remaining in the first overtime to seal the win for the Matadors and help the team improve to 4-0 for the first time since 1987.
On the season, Velasquez has four assists to rank first on the team and in the Big West Conference.
