Men's Student-Athlete of the Week --- David Turcios, Soccer

Midfielder David Turcios helped the Matadors split the opening weekend of Big West play by coming up big against UC Davis on Sept. 28. Against the Aggies, Turcios scored the game-winning goal in the seventh minute of play to lead the Matadors to a 2-0 victory.

The goal was the first of his career and he scored it by putting in a rebound after his initial shot was deflected by the UC Davis goalkeeper. The win for the Matadors improved the program to 9-1-2 in Big West openers since joining the conference in 2001. For his career, Turcios has one goal and three assists for five points.
