Men's Student-Athlete of the Week: Josh Greene, Basketball
Cal State Northridge junior guard Josh Greene has had a strong start to his third season with the Matadors. Through 11 games, Greene is averaging 13.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest.
Earlier in the season, Greene broke a longtime school record by hitting 33 consecutive free throws over a seven game period. Greene scored a season-high 28 points in a win over Tulsa and has reached double-figures in all but two games in 2012-13.
Greene dished out a career-high 13 assists in a win over Eastern Washington on Nov. 13, missing the school record by just two dimes. He also had a season-high six rebounds in the win over the Eagles.
Greene currently leads the team and the Big West
Conference in free throw shooting percentage (48-for-52, .923). He
is second in the Big West in assists (5.1 apg) while only
committing 21 turnovers in 11 games. Finally, he ranks
third in the conference with 1.80 steals per
game.
