Matador Minute with Joe Franco - Men's Soccer

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -

Cal State Northridge Men's Soccer defender Joe Franco is in his final year with the program and has been a staple in the Northridge defense as a starting outside back in every match since 2009. As Franco and the Matadors get ready for the team's home opener on Friday, Sept. 14 against the Army Black Knights, Franco took time to talk about the team's preparation as the Big West season approaches.

Franco scored his first goal since 2009 in CSUN's season opener against Portland. In the 4-0 win, the Monrovia, Calif., native received a pass from Carlos Benavides before making a spin move in the box and scoring into the left side of the net. In his career for the Matadors Franco has scored two goals and has added four assists for eight points.
