November 16, 2011 2011 Men's Soccer Year in Review Another season has come and gone for the Matadors men's soccer team. After a 2010 season that ended with a 3-14-2 record, Northridge was able to turn things around this season as it went 8-8-3 and finished fifth in the Big West Conference at 4-4-2. The Matadors fell a point shy of reaching the postseason in 2011, but had a much-improved offensive attack and defensive scheme. A total of seven players were named to All-Conference teams, tied for the second most in the Big West.

October 22, 2011 Late Heroics Lead Matadors to Upset Victory over No. 7 UCLA With two goals in the final eight minutes of regulation, the Cal State Northridge Matadors (7-7-1, 3-3-0 Big West) rallied for a come-from-behind win over the No. 7 UCLA Bruins (10-4-1, 5-0-0 Pac-12) 3-2 on Saturday night at Drake Stadium in Westwood, Calif. The victory was the first in history for the Matadors at UCLA as they moved to 2-13-3 against the Bruins all-time. In those 12 months, the former All-American and Olympian has experienced a series of transitions, from the increase in responsibilities associated with being a first-year head coach to assuming a new coaching role with Team USA.
August 29, 2011 Yossi Raz Promoted to Associate Head Coach of Men's Soccer Yossi Raz has been promoted to the title of associate head coach of the men’s soccer team, the program announced this summer. Raz is entering his seventh season as a member of head coach Terry Davila’s staff in 2011 after serving the first six as an assistant coach.
August 28, 2011 Texas Posts 5-1 Victory over Northridge The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (0-3) lost 5-1 to Texas Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match in Austin, Texas. Melissa Fernandez registered the Matadors' first goal of the season, but CSUN was unable to stop the Longhorns' offense in the inaugural women's soccer game to be broadcast on ESPN's Longhorn Network.
August 27, 2011 Matadors Pick Up First Win In Thrilling Fashion Over Weber State Sophomore Mahina Haina pounded a career-high 28 kills to lead Cal State Northridge to its first win of the 2011 season as the Matadors defeated Weber State in a five-set thriller (25-19, 27-25, 23-25, 21-25, 15-11) Saturday at Crimson Court.
August 26, 2011 Matadors Earn Hard-Fought Victory Over Canisius in Season Opener 2-0 The Cal State Northridge men's soccer team (1-0) opened the season strong offensively, working to a 2-0 victory over the Canisius Griffins (0-1) on Friday night at Matador Soccer Field. The win was the 100th for head coach Terry Davila as a member of the Big West Conference.
August 26, 2011 Baylor Slips Past Northridge, 1-0 The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (0-2) lost 1-0 to Baylor Friday night in a non-conference match in Waco, Texas. Natalie Huggins tallied the game's only goal in the ninth minute of action to lift the Bears over the visiting Matadors.
August 25, 2011 Adam Barry Named to Summer Collegiate All-American Team by Perfect Game USA Cal State Northridge Matador outfielder Adam Barry has been named to the Summer Collegiate All-American Team by Perfect Game USA, the organization announced Thursday. Barry was one of 48 national players selected to the team and one of just three players from the Big West Conference to earn the honor.
August 27, 2011 Matadors No Match For Utes in Second Round of Utah Classic The Cal State Northridge hitters struggled for the second straight match as the Matadors dropped a straight set decision (25-18, 25-14, 25-16) to the host Utah Utes in their second match of the Utah Classic Saturday at Crimson Court.
August 26, 2011 Matadors Fall in Season-Opener to Northwestern 25-20, 25-22, 25-15 The Cal State Northridge offense struggled in its season-opener as the Matadors fell to Northwestern 25-20, 25-22, 25-15 in the opening match of the Utah Classic at Crimson Court. Sophomore outside hitter Mahina Haina led CSUN with 10 kills in the loss.
August 24, 2011 Northridge Heads to Lone Star State for Contests with Big 12’s Baylor and Texas The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (0-1) takes its first road trip of the 2011 season this week when its heads to Texas to square off against a pair of opponents from the Big 12 Conference. On Aug. 26, Northridge faces Baylor for the second time in school history. Two days later, the Matadors make the journey to Texas’ state capital to face the University of Texas.

August 20, 2011 Matadors Defeat Cal State Dominguez Hills 5-0 in Preseason Tuneup The Cal State Northridge Matadors flew out of the gates on Saturday night, scoring two goals in the first 23 minutes en route to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros in a friendly at Matador Soccer Field. Five different Matadors scored and junior defender Joe Franco registered three assists in the contest.

Sydney Leroux and Rose White registered the UCLA scores and CSUN goalkeeper Cynthia Jacobo made four saves in defeat.
