Brett Sanders was named Director of the Matador Achievement Center, when the Center opened its doors in 2013. Brett is responsible for the organization, administration and supervision of a comprehensive academic support unit that offers academic assistance to student-athletes. He supervises a staff consisting of 3 full-time academic staff and 36 part-time mentors and tutors, in addition to other administrative support personnel. Sanders also oversees two student-athlete computer labs, the peer mentoring and tutoring programs, and the MAC’s equipment checkout program.
Brett served as an Academic Specialist for student-athletes at CSUN from 2010 to 2013. He began working at CSUN within the office Academic Services for Student Athletes in 2003 as the Administrative Support Assistant.
Prior to joining the Matadors, Sanders worked at California Lutheran University within their School of Education and California State University, Channel Islands within their Academic Advisement Center.
Sanders is a Cal State Northridge alumnus where he received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2001. Sanders received his Master’s degree in Educational Counseling from California Lutheran University in 2005.
