Matt Monroe is entering his 12th year (2010-11) on the media relations staff at Cal State Northridge. Monroe oversees the publicity efforts for Matador men's and women's volleyball, men's and women's track & field, men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's golf. Monroe has served as media coordinator at several Big West and NCAA Regional Track & Field championship events. He has won three "Best in the Nation" citations for publications by CoSIDA. Monroe spent five years (1995-1999) as the Sports Information Director at Menlo College in Atherton, Calif. In 1993, Monroe served as a Media Relations Assistant with the Oakland A's. Monroe is a 1992 graduate of Sonoma State University with a B.A. Degree in Communication Studies. He is married (Patty) with three daughters (Molly, Cailey, Ellie). The family resides in Simi Valley.
