Ashlie Kite enters her seventh year as an Associate Athletic Director at Cal State Northridge. She was named to that post on Dec. 17, 2004 and began her tenure on Jan. 24, 2005.
In this role, Kite supervises the internal operations for the Athletics Department. This includes the areas of Compliance, Athletics Business Office, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, Equipment Room, Event Management as well as the supervision of men's soccer, women's soccer, tennis and men's volleyball.
Kite came to Cal State Northridge from James Madison University, where she served as the Director of Compliance from 1999-2004 in that role, she was responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the Athletic Department's compliance program for more than 750 student-athletes competing 28 varsity sports. While overseeing the NCAA compliance program at JMU, Kite also coordinated the eligibility and financial aid processes for the university's student-athletes, and coordinated the athletic division's rules education program regarding issues.
In addition to her administrative duties in compliance, she also served as the director of a variety of NCAA and conference championship events while at JMU. Kite arrived at JMU in 1990, where she worked for a year in the athletic division¹s equipment operation and served as a graduate assistant for two years. In 1993, she began assisting the associate athletic director with compliance-related activities, and assumed a full-time compliance assistant's position in 1996.
Kite is a native of Elkton, Va. and is a graduate of Spotswood High School. She earned her Bachelor¹s degree in Health, Physical Education and Coaching from Eastern Mennonite University and her Master's degree in Kinesiology with an athletic administration concentration from James Madison University in 1993.
