A former Matador track and field student-athlete, Michelle Almazan joined the CSUN Athletic Academic Support Team in 2002. She started working as a student assistant mentor/tutor (2002-2005) and is now an academic advisor.
She works with the men's and women's basketball programs, women's soccer and tennis at CSUN. Alamazan competed in cross country and ran the 800 meters for retired head coach Don Strametz.
Alamazan is married a former Matador swimmer, Juan Almazan, who is a physical therapist at the City of Hope.
She received her Bachelor's Degree in Sport Psychology in 2005 and Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2010, both from CSUN.
She now competes in competitive triathlons and loves to cycle.
Her favorite quote is: "You may not be the best, but that does not mean you can't be better."
