Matadors Place 17 on Fall All-Big West Academic Team
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. –
Seventeen Matadors earned recognition for their successes in the classroom this fall as Cal State Northridge had student-athletes from each sport represented on the Big West Academic All-Conference list, the league announced this week. In all, 125 student-athletes from all nine member institutions received the honor.
The 2011 Fall All-Academic team consists of student-athletes from women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s cross country. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.20 grade point average, complete one full academic year at the school (at least a sophomore academically before the season starts), and compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
