Northridge, Calif. - Cal State Northridge Athletics continues to grow in an effort to meet the demands of an ever-changing social networking culture.
By becoming a fan of Matador Athletics on Twitter and Facebook, CSUN supporters now have the opportunity to receive the latest scores, event recaps, photo galleries, special announcements, and news on promotional activities, ticket offers and much more pertaining to the more than 400 student-athletes and 20 intercollegiate teams at Cal State Northridge.
Both of CSUN's social networking sites (Twitter and Facebook) are free. Those fans who currently do not have an account can sign up within a matter of minutes.

To receive user updates (known as "tweets") on Cal State Northridge Athletics via Twitter, visit www.twitter.com/GoMatadors.
And don't forget, you can also receive the free weekly e-newsletter (Matador Mail). Go to www.gomatadors.com and look for the "Matador Mail" link on the front page.
The CSUN Facebook page will feature regular updates on events and promotions related to Matador Athletics. It will also host pictures and videos related to Cal State Northridge Athletics. The CSUN Media Relations staff will utilize Twitter to keep fans instantly updated on athletic events. Fans can even sign up to have text messages delivered to their mobile devices from the Matador Twitter page.
Facebook is the largest social network in the world, and also ranks as the fifth most popular website worldwide. It allows its users to join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region to connect and interact with other people who share similar interests. People can also find friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves.
Twitter is currently the third-largest social network in the world with six million users. It is a micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other user's updates (known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them instantaneously.
And coming this Fall - The Matador Athletics YouTube Channel. YouTube is a video sharing website where users can upload, view, and share video clips. Matador Athletics will post videos on a regular basis with interviews with coaches and student-athletes, and highlights of athletic games, matches and other events.
