Six Student-Athletes Named to All-Big West Academic Team
Six student-athletes from the winter sports of men's and women's basketball and men's and women's swimming were named to the All-Big West Academic Team as announced by the conference on Friday.

Men's and women's swimming each had two representatives. Earning the honor from men's swimming was junior Nathan Rust (Sebastopol, CA) and sophomore Brett Grunert (Menomonee Falls, WI), while sophomores Melanie Cupitt (Sydney, Australia) and Diana Daltorio (Monterey Park, CA) earned the award for women's swimming. Men's basketball sophomore Terrell Jones (Carson, CA) and women's basketball sophomore Megan Ching (Honolulu, HI) also earned academic accolades.

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes have to maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, have attained a sophomore standing academically and competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.

Nineteen Matadors, including 13 student-athletes from the Fall session, have earned All-Academic honors during 2004-05.
